Rajma Recipe: How to Make Delicious Punjabi Rajma Masala at Home

Soak the Rajma

– Rinse the red kidney beans and soak them in enough water overnight. – The next day, drain the water and rinse the beans again.

Pressure Cook the rajma or stovetop

– Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and dry chilli

– Once they start to splutter, add chopped onions and green chilies.

– Fry them until they turn golden brown. – Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2-3 minutes until the raw smell goes away.

– Add chopped tomatoes and all the spices (turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala powder) and cook until the tomatoes turn soft and mushy.add salt

– Once the mixture has cooked down

– Add the cooked kidney beans along with the boil potatos{optional} , they were cooked in to the gravy.

add 1 cup water and mix well

Mix well and let the rajma masala simmer for 10 minutes until it thickens and the flavors are well combined. add kasuri methi and mix well.– Adjust the salt and spices according to your taste.

– Once the rajma masala is done, turn off the flame and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. – Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
