– Heat a small amount of oil in a pan and fry the dal until it turns light
– Next, add 4 cups of water to the dal and cook it on high heat for 30 minutes. [If you’re using a pressure cooker, add 3 cups of water and 3 whistles to cook the dal.] Once the dal is cooked, mash it with a spoon until it becomes a smooth consistency.

– In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil.Add dry chilli, bay leaf, and 1 teaspoon of geera to the pan,Cook for a few seconds until the spices are fragrant.
– Add diced tomatoes and cook until they soften.
– Add the cooked dal to the pan and stir well.
add 1/4 teaspoon of ginger paste, and salt to taste.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of geera powder,
– Cook for 5 to 7 minutes or until the dal is fully cooked and the flavors are well combined. – Optional: garnish with chopped dhaniya leaf before serving.
