For Idli

– 2 cups of idli rice – 1 cup of urad dal (black gram) 1 n 1/2 cup rava [suji] 1 tablespon methi – Salt to taste – Water

Fill– Rinse 2 cups of idli rice and 1 cup of urad dal (black gram) separately and soak them in water for 4-5 hours.

– Drain the water and grind the urad dal with methi seeds first in a grinder with water as required or mixer grinder until it becomes a smooth and fluffy batter.Remove the urad dal batter into a large bowl and grind the rice into a smooth batter. Add water as required while grinding the rice.add washed rava into the batter and mix all together with clean hand.

FiAfter 8-10 hours of fermented. The batter double in volume and fluffy.

– Grease the idli molds with oil or ghee.

– Add water to the idli steamer and let it come to a boil. – Pour the batter into the idli molds and steam for 10-15 minutes or until the idlis are cooked.

Remove the idlis from the molds using a spoon

serve hot Idli with chutney
